Terms of service.
Plain English. Effective 2026-04-21. By creating an account or running Robot.io against real hardware, you agree to these.
What Robot.io is
Robot.io is an IDE + protocol for programming industrial robots. The RCP specification is available on request — see Request access. The Python reference SDK (rcp-sdk) is published under Apache 2.0 and may be used under that licence. The hosted IDE / cloud services are proprietary and covered by these terms.
What you agree to
- Safety is yours. RCP enforces protocol-level gates (SAFE / GUARDED / RESTRICTED / PROHIBITED) but it is NOT a substitute for your physical safety system. You are responsible for E-stops, light curtains, safety PLCs, and compliance with ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066, and applicable local regulations.
- No medical / military / autonomous vehicle use. Not certified. Don’t.
- Don’t attack the service — no scraping, no rate-limit bypass, no using the API to train a competing product.
- Payment if on a paid tier. Monthly or annual. 14-day money-back on first purchase.
What we agree to
- 99.5% monthly uptime for hosted services (best-effort during beta; contractually committed on the Enterprise tier).
- 14-day notice before any breaking API change.
- Prorated refund if we terminate without cause.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Robot.io is not liable for damages caused by robot motion, cell downtime, or controller faults. Use a validated safety system. Always. This is industry-standard language; we’re not the outlier.
Termination
You can cancel anytime from Settings. We can terminate your account for breach of these terms with 30 days notice except in cases of safety abuse, which is immediate.
